Lovenest Studios
is a private production, mixing, recording, and mastering studio located in Massachussetts in an old brick mill building perched over the Neponset River dividing Milton from the Dorchester Lower Mills neighborhood of Boston.
The control room is professionally treated for acoustics and employs world class monitoring, a Neve 8424 analog console, state of the art routing, Lynx Aurora(n) conversion, and an arsenal of top notch, mastering grade analog processors.
The live room hosts the iconic Sony C800G and Telefunken 251 mics as well as a vintage 1968 Neumann U87, a Soyuz 017 handmade large diaphragm tube mic, and the Golden Age Projects U47. Available are a top of the line Roland e-drum set, guitar and bass amplification, keyboards, and moveable baffles.
Eight channels of Phoenix Audio preamps and a collection of top quality drum mics are available for live drums. The house drums are a 2012 5-piece set of birch Pearls with Zildjian cymbals and a Pork Pie maple/zebrawood snare.
Visibility between the two rooms is via high definition cameras and monitors.
Studio time, production, recording, mixing, and mastering are by project not by the hour, and by appointment only.

The Revolutionary SSL Oracle Console is coming to Lovenest Studios!
This is HUGE news! Lovenest Studios has ordered the fully analog, digitally controlled and instantly recallable new SSL Oracle console and we expect delivery this Fall. Yes, we’re moving from Neve to SSL but stay tuned for how we’ll get that famously lush Neve sound. As far as we know, this is the only fully analog SSL console in New England.

The purpose of Lovenest Studios is to provide a sonic environment on a par or better than the best facilities in the area for producers, mixers, and musicians alike, at a cost lower than would be expected.
Our control room was acoustically treated under the supervision of acoustic architect and world-class mixing and mastering engineer (records and soundtracks) for Sony, Warner Brothers, Universal, Netflix, and Amazon, Martin Merenyi. Routing design and wiring by John Horne and maintenance by Burt Price, Assistant Chief Engineer and Chief Engineer at Berklee College of Music, respectively.
